Ijaz is Managing Partner of Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry and Associates, one of the largest law firms in South Asia, since 1972. The Group provides a dynamic practice in the fields of civil, criminal, international public and private law, litigation, as well as arbitration services, public sector project agreements and bilateral contracts, and large scale emerging market privatizations, joint ventures, development of natural resources agreements, construction projects, insurance and reinsurance, banking, M&A, trade, licensing, and other international commercial disputes. Ijaz brings with him four decades of expertise in the field of negotiating legal deals and M&A structuring and contract negotiation across emerging markets.

Ijaz’s clients include the sovereign governments of Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, the international aid agencies Norad, Sida and Finadia, as well as multinational companies such as, Comelec, Centerfield Inc USA, Dedini LTDA do Brazil, Euroriske Insurance, Euro, Center (Thailand) Co, Sweco AB, Siemens AG (Medical Division), Skanska Civil International AB, Quiral Quomica do Brazil, VBBViak AB, Victoria Corp (Australia) International SOS (Singapore), etc. As of 2005, he is also a Director on the Board of Management for BATA Pakistan Ltd.

Ijaz is Honorary Consul General in Pakistan for the Federative Republic of Brazil, since 1982. He is recipient of the highest civil award for foreigners, the “Southern Star” from President of the Federative Republic of Brazil (in 1989), as well as, recipient of the highest civil award for foreigners, The “Polar Star” from His Majesty the King of Sweden (in 1997).
