Nadir Qureshi: Private Equity, Singapore & Middle East

Nadir brings with him in-depth private equity experience in the healthcare, manufacturing, energy and food & agri-business sectors. His experience spans across the Middle East, Turkey, Africa, Australia, the Indian subcontinent, China and ASEAN.

Nadir was Principal at Abraaj Capital, the world’s largest private equity group outside the US and EU with over $6 billion under management, where he was responsible for originating, negotiating, structuring, developing, closing and subsequent portfolio management of private equity investments across the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. Over the past five years, Nadir has built strong expertise in the food and agri, healthcare and energy sectors serving on the Board of several portfolio companies.

Prior to that, Nadir held several positions at Carrier Corporation including Manager of Marketing and Strategy and earlier was Assistant to the Asia Pacific President of the group, spearheading strategic growth initiatives and special programs for a $1.5 billion manufacturing, sales and service business covering all of Asia ex-Japan. At Carrier he also led due diligence efforts for regional M&A in Australia.

Nadir also served as Team Leader at Bain and Company, Inc., supporting Fortune 100 MNCs and leading Asian companies developing and implementing strategies to create sustainable competitive advantage. At Bain Nadir completed multiple due diligence efforts across Asia for leading private investors for investments ranging from $10 million to $500 million. He also successfully helped one of Asia’s largest agri-commodities trading house to raise strategic capital and helped develop the strategy of a Singapore Government entity to identify and target high-potential companies with international growth ambitions to support them in expanding beyond Singapore.

Earlier on, Nadir was a Manager with the Hub Power Company Limited based in Pakistan, the nation’s first independently-owned IPP project, where he managed international subcontractors during the construction of a $1.6 billion, 1,200MW private power plant.

Nadir holds a MBA from the Harvard Business School and a Master & Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
